During his internship at Seed EM, one of our collaborators participated in the Drupal IXP Program, a global initiative to integrate new developers into the Drupal ecosystem through practical projects. His challenge: to build a blog from scratch with Drupal CMS. The experience combined personalized mentoring, support from a project manager, and solving real technical challenges, allowing him to strengthen his development skills, learn to work in a team, and grow professionally in an applied environment.

In his Driesnote, Dries shared why he prefers to upload photos to his Drupal site: he is in control of his data, protects his privacy and maintains his creative freedom. He criticized how social media prioritizes monetization over human connection. He emphasized that Drupal is a modern, secure and flexible platform, aligned with trends such as low-code and decoupled front-end. He celebrated the advances in Drupal 10 and the new tools to facilitate contribution. He reminded that taking care of Drupal is taking care of the open web.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation in collaboration with the Tor project has launched a beta version of the HTTPS Everywhere Extension, this extension encrypts communication with a large number of websites making requests over https, many websites although they offer https support are not intuitive to use or link to sections without https which does not ensure that we are always on an encrypted connection, with this extension we can stay in an encrypted connection as long as it is available.

Returning to the reality of work after attending a DrupalCon returns one with an interesting load of new ideas and above all a renewed optimism. Mainly because you meet old colleagues who are still there, being part of the community, but you also see many new faces, young developers and users excited about Drupal.

With the cancellation of DrupalCon, the main community event organized by the Drupal Association and scheduled for May of this year 2020, the Association suffered a severe financial setback since the event is the main source of funds that supports the services offered to the community.
