Launch of the Drupal Association of Colombia (ADC).
Eight Colombian Drupalers from different business areas: developers, platform users, technical, commercial and administrative leaders, have come together to found a local, non-profit association, with the aim of promoting and encouraging the use of Drupal and as a way to boost community efforts and initiatives, in accordance with the values and principles of Drupal, as an open source community.
From the Drupal development agencies, Jairo Pinzón, Aldibier Morales and William Vera from SeeD EM; Jorge Alexander Salcedo and Carolina Poveda from Bits Americas; a senior Drupal developer and very active member of the community, Iván Chaquea; a user of the Drupal technology, Jonathan Osorio from Grupo Éxito; and from the academic side, Sócrates Rojas, dean of the systems faculty at the Instituto Técnico Central de Bogotá, a prestigious public technical school.
From now on, membership is open to all organizations and individuals who wish to join the Colombian Drupal Association and who share the same interest as us. By joining the association, members will have access to local activities, training, official Drupal events and the opportunity to contribute in a more active and organized way. The association will be based in Manizales, a city with a population of 398,000 inhabitants, a thriving university population of approximately 35,000 people, which is home to 7 universities and which is evolving towards becoming a technological city. The ADC is preparing for its first official event: Drupal Camp Medellín, June 5-6, 2020.
