The White House launches another group of contributions to the Drupal project Add to Default shortcuts

On Friday, February 9, 2011, White House Director of New Media Macon Phillips announced at  Tech@state  that a second set of contributions to the Drupal project had been released, these contributions are both developments of new modules and contributions to other modules widely supported and used by the community.

For IMCE File Manager, they have developed a new module called " IMCE Tools " that covers three main functions:

  • First, "IMCE Directory Manager" provides an interface to specify which directories can be accessed by a user using the IMCE module. This feature is very useful when you have users with the same role but need unique directories where there is no information uploaded by other users.

  • Second, "IMCE Search" Allows you to search for files in the IMCE interface allowing you to easily identify the location of uploaded files.

  • Third, "IMCE File Path" easily displays the URL of a file making it easy to share it as a link.

The development team has also made an important contribution to the development of the  Calais  (auto-tagging),  IMCE SWFUpload  (Utility for mass file upload) and  shortURL  (Allows the creation of short URLs) modules that they use for the wh short domain. gov

In addition, recognition was given to the  FeaturesSpacesBoxesContextStrongArm , and  Admin projects , which are supported by the Drupal community and are currently used mostly on the  Open Atrium collaboration suite . These projects hope to contribute to the community for their development.
